I went through all my old Zemashup alert posts (see Zemashup tag to) I had been doing and cleaned out
the crappy code that's left over from Google email alerts by copying everything over into Windows Live
Writer and then copying it back.
Leaving Zemanta on the whole time it read each post and brought back
recommendations. Being the dork that I am I then went through those results and
kind of hacked them into what you see below.I actually had to go in tweak the HTML that Zemanta uses in the post.
I had a college poetry professor who called this Found Art. Most people would
probably (rightfully so) call it ‘noise’.
I do find it interesting how Paul has continued to use Gmail even as a part of FriendFeed. I guess if it's something you built you know it better than anyone.
Yes I am hopelessly addicted to the bright shiny object called the real timeWeb and it's offspring, real time search.
The [Non] Value of Friendfeed | Technosailor.com Over the past year or so, I've fiddled around on Friendfeed. Sometimes actively, sometimes passively. The notion of aggregating all social content into a single.
It's odd but I totally get when people don't get FriendFeed. It seems kinda simple it first but it's totally not, but it is. Make sense?
Of course following the vegetable farmers you get a more serious
story like this. The whole Iran thing is sad because I wonder if anything will
change. Of course it will it probably just take longer.
I can just see it now, CIA paramilitary counterterrorist
operatives hunched over a computer screen in a dark underground super secret
military vase searching Facebook seeing who’s in a relationship with who, who
poked who. There’s gotta be a scifi short story in there
somewhere.
Along the lines of the CIA there are other info junkies that have
to be drooling over all the rich relationship data filling the corners of sites
like Facebook.
It’s one thing to do a background check on publicly available
information but this? There’s no way in hell I’d ever give my city the login
info for any of my accounts. That just seems…
illegal(?)
I must admit I'm mostly at a loss for anything meaningful to add. I know little about Iran but nothing has made it more real for me than Twitter. Never would I have imagined social media having this kind of global effect.

I know I got a huge boost in numbers from FriendFeed counting
subscriptions. I also have reason to believe that FriendFeed activity has a big
impact on PostRank rankings.
Oddly enough this alert even reflects the
change in results for FriendFeed. Much more results FOR FriendFeed that are
actually FROM FriendFeed and not actually ABOUT FriendFeed.

I don’t know how I feel about structured
results. I’m sure I’ll like them I just worry about who’s structuring them for
me. I’d like to be able to apply pre-defined parameters
myself.
And then here we have actual profile results.
Weird.
